In Retrospect

Life's like a rear view mirror of a car it reflects your past that is a part of who you are today and what will you become tomorrow.

Life's also like a book, you may finish reading and close it but it will not yet the end of the story for the things you've learned from it will last forever.

Just like in our Educational Technology 2 class it may be the last semester of being together but the things I've learned will always be a part of me, forever. This class was not an ordinary class for me, why? because things are not the same to the other classes that I've been. In here we are not only challenged but we are required to do our one million percent best to all activities we had. Yes, I admit that sometimes I may say "Grabe na pud!" but as the time goes by I've realized that what had our professor did to us was not an intention to make us suffer but for us to be mold as precious and strong as diamonds. Also in this class we made impossible things possible, indeed it is true, from the projects down to the examinations, I couldn't believe how I was able to surpass such things in my life.

But think of this, "No one succeeded in just a blink of an eye." that's why if we may experience hard and difficult situation we should always think that it will lead us in becoming a better person compare to who we are in the past. To become an effective and efficient teacher our training must be rigid in order for our abilities and skills to come out within us.

EdTech2 is an angel in disguise for it does not mold us to become teachers but it helped us to become educators. It is really essential for us as 21st century educators for it helps us to understand and know how are we going to incorporate properly technology in education and use it inside the classroom not only that I've also learn to understand the learners of today, we are different from the students in this generation for the reason that we grew up from a traditional way of teaching and as future teachers we should adjust on how we are going to deal and educate our students, we should be on trends in order for us to really know what are the interests of our students that will be a great instrument that will help us in educating them and to give them quality education. There's a lot more things I've learned maybe we will need 1 week for me to tell you everything.

My long travel to become an Educator will not be possible if  all things I've been through for the past years of my life were not present and EdTech2 is part of that. I would like to thank my classmates for being a great companion through hard and rough times of our lives and mostly to our professor for being an instrument for me to come out from my comfort zone and discover that I am capable to do a lot of things that I am not aware of in the past.

We may close this chapter but I can truly say that it is not yet the end. Let's wait for the next sequel of this story.

SONA 2015: The Last Presedential Speech

SONA 2015 Reaction Paper

Filipino people are really looking forward for every SONA the President of our country will make. Starting from the first SONA down to the last SONA, people are really making an effort to listen to the promises and to know what has changed in the past 5 years of being the president of our country.

President Noynoy Aquino had his last SONA as a president of our country last Monday, July 27,2015 after handling the Philippines for almost 6 years. SONA or State of the Nation Address is a yearly event made by the President to tell the citizens of what are the things and actions made by the government to improve the situation and solve the problems of our country. Also it is one way for the President to show off what he has made for our country, to communicate to us and to tell us the situation of our country in terms of progress. It is really a must for us to listen not only because it is our duty as citizens but because we should be aware of what is really happening to our country that will greatly affect us, our daily living.

In the said SONA of President Noynoy, each one of us has our own impression and reaction to what our President mentioned in his speech.

                IS THERE A CHANGE?

The biggest question every Filipino people have been asking. We are voting people whom we think are worthy of being elected on that situation and will make our country a progressive one. I can really see the effort invested by President Noynoy to make sure to lift our country in a higher pace.
He does a lot of things that helped not only those who are in need but also benefited by the citizens in the Philippines. We cannot say that he does nothing because as what we can see and hear on television and other medias, he does wondrous things that make our country progressive maybe in some little way but still it paved way to the progress of our country. President Noynoy may not able to solve all problems that we  Filipino are facing but at least he lessens the burden we had.

I don’t really understand people, complaints here, there and everywhere but they are the ones responsible for electing such government officials in their position then after how many months, if the officials being elected will not be able to give what the people want, rallies and protest will be pushed through. President Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino was elected by most Filipino people to be the father of our country, but how come after several months of his term, rallies rose up telling him to go down from his position. Will it make a difference in our situation if President Noynoy will go down? They should also bear in their minds that presidents are still human they still commit mistakes, they don’t have supernatural powers that could instantly solve all problems that are going on. Ruling a whole class with more or less 50 students is a very tough one, how about ruling a whole country with billions of people living in there?

                We should not solely blame President Noynoy for the awful things happened in our country, people and the situation is not in his control, he may be the president but he cannot force people not to do something bad and the happenings not to occur. We should not only focus on the negative side, that’s the problem because we people are too blinded for our own desires, if that will not be satisfied then we tend to be pessimistic. He still contributed a lot of things to the progress of our country, let’s not only focus on the bad things but also see the bright side of his term. The following are President Noynoy’s contribution to our country;

  • · Destroying corruption inside the Government. He dismissed those corrupt leaders and put them into jail.
  • ·  Supporting the Filipino families who can’t sustain their daily expenses and needs through the “4P’s” or known as the “Pantawid Pilipino Pamilya Program”. Through this program a lot of children was able to attend school and also families are able to give basic necessities to their families.
  • · Another one was, he also took action to the places and people devastated by natural calamities most especially in places destroyed by typhoons and earthquakes. Through the housing program, people are able to stand again after the dreadful incident in their lives. Also giving relief goods and physical and emotional aid was given to the people for faster recovery not just the place but also the people living in that area.
  • · He also supported for the enhancement and renewal of military apparatus used by the soldiers, police and other law officers in our country.
  • · Modification of our educational system.

There’s a lot more, if we are not too blinded we might be able to see that behind those negative incidents happening there are  more good things that we should be thankful of that contributed in the growth of our country.

Have you ever wonder that in the past decades our country was still consider as one of the 3rd world countries in the world? No Presidents will be able to bring our country into success if its people are not with him or her. Change cannot be stop, it is either in a good or bad way. The change is not only at the hands of President Noynoy nor in the hands of other presidents but it also relies on the people living in that country or in simply saying “Change is at our hands; me, you, them, all of us is an entity of change. We should not blame all misfortunes or negative things that happened to our country to whoever president is in term but we should also blame our selves. We keep on pointing our fingers to the leaders up there but not pointing ourselves for all that happened.

Before we question “Does President Noynoy became a good presidents?” First we should question ourselves “Did we became a good citizens of our country?”

True Education

Making the Invisible Visible

Preparing preservice teachers for the first steps in linking research to practice:

Despite the widespread expectation that the teachers leverarge research to meet the needs of diverse students, little is known about how to prepare preservice teachers to engage in this complex process. This quasi-experimental study examines a collaborative, standards-based intervention that prepares preservice teachers to articulate classroom-based problems, create research-guiding questions, and design effective search strategies. A MANOVA test indicated that the intervention is associated with stronger performance on those first steps. The authors provide detailed descriptions of the intervention and it's results in order to offer a roadmap for supporting preservice teachers in the foundational steps of linking research to practice.
